Sensei Patrick Burton is a sixth degree black belt in Shorin-ryu and Ryu Kido Kan karate and a veteran Army Ranger with over 35 years of martial arts training. The grandson of Master Elwin Wayne Burton, Sensei Patrick was originally trained in Tae Kwon Do and Kung Fu, and his dedication to martial arts has been passed down from generation to generation. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Sensei Patrick found success early on in competitive sport karate, studying under Master Art “Chaim” Jaffee. Drawn to the warrior ideals of duty, honor, loyalty, and courage, Sensei Patrick joined the Army at seventeen. He later decided to use his experiences to help kids, educating young people in after-school, summer camp, wilderness education, and therapeutic programs in addition to youth karate and self-defense classes. In founding Warrior Fusion, Sensei Patrick created the Young Warriors Karate & Self-Defense Program in 2010 when asked by parents to bring martial arts to kids in their communities. He is a skilled teacher who enjoys helping youth and adults reach their goals and progress along their individual paths as martial artists.
